Hollywood Black Film Festival
2007

The 2007 edition of the Hollywood Black Film Festival, held from June 5-10, found the annual event continuing to grow in both literal and figurative size, occupying number of points along a stretch of Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills. In addition to the previous year's flagship of the Fine Arts Theatre, a screen at the Laemmle's Music Hall Theatre was added to fully accommodate the screening of no less than 126 feature and short films, both narrative and documentary, by professional and student filmmakers from around the globe.

The festival's celebrated Infotainment Conference moved from Le Meridien Hotel to the Clarity Theatre, which sits midway between the two screening venues. Motion picture industry professionals such as writer-director Gary Hardwick (whose Universal Remote was the opening night selection), screenwriter Antwone Fisher, writer-director Preston Whitmore, director and Rainforest Films co-head Rob Hardy, and Roger Bobb of Tyler Perry Studios were among the participants in this series of discussion panels, conferences, and workshops for up-and-coming filmmakers and actors.
